Featured Artists

This was the 2024 line-up... the 2025 artists will be announced in February 2025! We have gathered a great line up of talent for you to meet.  Some will be demonstrating technique, some will be leading you to try your hand at something.  Fun will be afoot!

David Barnes

Our Host for the 2024 Creston Clay Fest - Eversfield Ceramics is David's domain. David has been potting for decades... he loves teaching all kinds of techniques from throwing to hand building and sculpture. David will be demonstrating striated extruding to build large forms and sculpture. His work will be available for purchase.

He's looking forward to the throwdown - always up for some friendly competition.

02

Alison Bjorkman

Alison's forte is wheel thrown pottery. She is a function first gal - favoring the balance of form and use over 'that looks cool'. Her work has been described as clean and contemporary. She's been at it over 25 years and never tires of the wheel.  Alison will be demonstrating wheel throwing through out the day and will help you throw (make) a pot if you wish to have a go. She'll also be in the throwdown with David... (against David - some friendly jabs will be had) and her work will be available for purchase.

Andrea Revoy

Andrea's fabulous ceramic objects will truly have you wondering what goes on inside her head! Masterfully crafted with a sense of humor and  the unexpected. Andrea will be demonstrating her love of sculpture and form and you may try your hand at her techniques.  If we can convince her to return to the wheel she may join us in the throw down... a dare might have to be in order.

04

Lisa Ostendorf

Lisa loves to try new things ALL the time. She will be hosting the always exciting raku firing! This will be at set times throughout the day. You will get to experience Lisa's calm under pressure demeanor... but will also be asked to STAY OUT OF THE WAY...  haha - she's a delight and will be our social butterfly pulling people into trying new things.  Check out the videos of us doing raku on the schedule page.

Heath Cara (Shpriken)

Heath Carra is a wizard of slab built, embossed and detailed functional work. He is likely better known by the name Shpriken and with his partner Pixie they are "ShprixieLand Pottery".  Beautifully detailed and whimsical the pottery of ShprixieLand is collected and loved the world over. Pixie will be skipping around Clay Fest as well... selling their beautiful wares and hopefully joining the throwdown!

Heath will be demonstrating his slab building, embossing and finishing techniques throughout the day.  Having Heath and Andrea Revoy in the same room will ensure a raucous time!

06

Jess Stacey

Jess is a multi discipline artist. She paints, she pots, she dyes textiles and more. She also has a flower farm in Creston so she often makes vases and other 'flower' accoutrement. Jess will be demonstrating surface design through out the day using slips, carving, embossing and more- you can give it a try too! She'll be in the throwdown as well - flinging some shade at her competition as well as mud. Her work will be available for purchase.

Kait McKenna

Kait has a passion for pottery. She'll be wrangling our kids table. There will be wonderful things to try out and your children will have an opportunity to work with real supplies and tools and have some instruction. It could become a new passion... Kait also has a teaching studio in Creston that you may want to check out!
